World-beating rockers Jet will line-up for that one day in September.
The AFL has announced that Jet will perform at their Grand Final on September 29. The band will strike up some hearty rock before the game on the hallowed turf of the MCG. Then they're scheduled to provide post-match revelries (or commiserations) at Centre Square, the new corporate hospitality village at the ground.Jet frontman Nic Cester said in a statement, "Somehow Jet have earned a reputation for enjoying a night out, so we're happy to add to that reputation and be part of the inaugural Centre Square post-match entertainment the AFL is putting on. We'll be asking for Dim Sims and footy franks on our rider for sure."
The Cester brothers are reportedly die-hard Collingwood fans, whereas Cameron Muncy and Mark Wilson support the Cats. Intriguingly, both teams have a real chance of playing in the final.
Cester continued, "We're thrilled to be playing at one of the greatest sporting events in the world. Growing up in Melbourne and following the footy all of our lives and getting to play at the Grand Final is every kid's dream."
