New project NASA brings together rap and rock's finest on one collaborative album.
Pitchfork reports that Squeak E Clean (director Spike Jonze's brother Sam Speigel) and DJ Zegon are currently working of the massive collaborative project NASA, which stands for North America South America. The electro hip hop production includes a slew of the latest and greatest stars in hip hop, rock and indie music.While details are still sketchy about the album's title, label and release date, they've announced a list of artist that will feature. They include: David Byrne; Tom Waits; M.I.A.; Karen O and Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs; RZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard and Method Man of Wu Tang Clan; Kool Keith; Lovefoxxx of Cansei De Ser Sexy; Spank Rock; John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers; Chali 2na, now solo from Jurassic 5; KRS-One; George Clinton; Del Tha Funkee Homosapien; Nina Persson of The Cardigans, and scores more.
NASA have also announced a 19-song rough tracklist that sees Karen O team up with the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, RZA on the same track as Frusciante and Tom Waits trading blows with Kool Keith. More information as it comes to hand, but NASA sounds like it'll trump Handsome Boy Modelling School hands down.
