After the Lilith Fair music festival lost steam in the US, founder Sarah McLachlan brings an abridged version to Australia.
The Taste Of Lilith will feature McLachlan, as well as Court Yard Hounds, who are probably better known as Martie Maguire and Emily Robison of Dixie Chicks. There will also be a couple of well-regarded local acts, the kookily talented Kate Miller-Heidke and The Verses, the latest project for former Killing Heidi bandmates Ella and Jesse Hooper.
McLachlan herself has just released a new album in Laws Of Illusion, her first in seven years. Court Yard Hounds recently had their debut released in Australia. And The Verses are fresh off a top twenty chart position for their debut album Seasons.
After success from 1997 to 1999, Lilith Fair was revived in 2010 but didn't complete its run.
The Taste Of Lilith is the first time the girl power music fest has spread its wings outside North America.
Artist fan club pre-sales tickets will be release on August 30, and general public tickets are available from September 2.
