Neil Young's wife Pegi will soon release her debut solo album.
Pegi, a long-time backing singer in her husband's band, will release her album 'Pegi Young' on June 26th.Pegi wrote half the songs on the album, starting back when she was a teenager, and views the release as her lifelong ambition. Now in her 50's, Pegi says "It was something I always wanted to do but could never make time for".
The line-up for the record includes Ben Keith and Rick Rosas from Neil's band, Anthony Crawford on guitar, drummers Karl Himmell and Chad Crowmwell, Spooner Oldham on keyboards, and of course her husband Neil on guitar, harmonica and vocals.
In coming weeks, Pegi will perform live with her band on Friday, June 22 at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur; June 24 at the Attic in Santa Cruz; and June 26 at the Little Fox Theatre in Redwood City.
She is also booked to appear on Late Night With Conan O'Brien on July 18.
The 'Pegi Young' album will be released on Vapor Records and distributed by Warner Brothers.
