Prog rock kings Tool are reportedly planning to make a film.
Speaking to Billboard, guitarist Adam Jones mused about making a proper feature film. The band are renowned for their atmospheric stop-motion film clips, most of which were assembled by Jones. He has worked in special effects for years, contributing to Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Dance With Wolves and Ghostbusters 2.Unsurprisingly, Jones said, "If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it. I think some of the other guys would like to do pockets of all of that or something that's live or we're playing. It's just talk right now."
Jones said that the band have been tossing ideas around for years, and a film would become reality as soon as they found the right financial backer.
"It has to be a collective thing as far as the band members," he said. "Everyone has to be very happy and it has to be done in a way where people would see integrity and hard work and not just something thrown together or home movies or some shitty filmed live show."
