Modern pop punkers Sum 41 and Yellowcard planed Australian visits so they may as well play together.
It's been a long time between raspberry cordials for world-beating brats Sum 41. Their last effort 'Chuck' came out in 2004 and, apart from singer Derek Whibley shacking up with Avril Lavigne, Sum 41 had mostly dropped off the radar. Three years later, after having lost guitarist Dave Baksh, they return with 'Underclass Hero'.Majestic pop-punk act Yellowcard have been decidedly busier, trading on the success of 2006's 'Lights And Sounds'. The classically-oriented alterna-rockers already have a new album in the bag called 'Paper Walls'.
With both albums up for release in late July, Yellowcard and Sum 41 discovered that they'd be plugging their new albums at the same time in Australia in early-August. It seemed only logical for them to team up for special showcase performances in Melbourne and Sydney.
They'll play Melbourne's The Metro on August 1, sadly only for those of drinking age, and Sydney's Luna Park Big Top on August 3 for all and sundry. Tickets go on sale on June 13.
