Melbourne's premier 'indie pop for grown-ups' quartet Icecream Hands launch their new album.
It's apt that the group has been on hiatus raising kids and embarking on sweet solo projects, but after 2004's 'You Can Ride My Bike' Best Of, these mature indie statesmen have finally released their fifth studio album 'The Good China'.In the five years since 'Broken UFO' the plaudits still pour in for their songwriting skills. The Sydney Morning Herald gushed "Icecream Hands have great songs falling out their back pockets". "Floating somewhere between early Beatles and late Crowded House," the Oz Music Project note that Icecream Hands, "come very close to perfect pop."
Produced by "East Van Parks" at Melbourne's Sing Sing studios in February, 'The Good China' is sure to be another entry in their immaculate catalogue of ambling indie pop gems. It was released on May 19 and Icecream Hands return to the stage to deliver the songs to their adoring fans.
