Powderfinger management has cancelled an interview with News Ltd after the newspaper group refused to remove a story announcing a joint Silverchair/Powderfinger tour for later in 2007.
News Ltd had planned a Q&A for fans to ask the band questions but had to apologize to the fans.At news.com.au, a statement reads "Our planned video interview with Powderfinger this afternoon was cancelled by the band's management after NEWS.com.au refused to take down a story about a concert with Silverchair. Apologies to all those who submitted questions".
The News Ltd tour story read "Rumours have swirled this year that Powderfinger and Silverchair will combine for a joint tour in September. The tour is also tipped to be in a circus tent-style contraption, meaning the band can bypass the usual venues. News leaked after both bands became joint directors of a company - Powderchair - earlier this year".
Powderfinger release their new album 'Dreams Days At The Hotel Existence' this weekend.
