News Ltd has issued an explosive statement placing Australian touring company Andrew McManus Presents Pty Ltd at the centre of the salary cap scandal that is rocking the Melbourne Storm football team.
A News Ltd investigation alleges Andrew McManus Presents Pty Ltd was acting as a middleman for distributing bonus funds to 11 football players. Their statement names Michael Crocker, Cooper Cronk, Dallas Johnson, Anthony Quinn, Cameron Smith, Steve Turner, Ryan Hoffman, Antonio Kaufusi and Matt Geyer.An additional two players were identified, according to the report. "The funds paid to the players in this way were then re-invoiced by the McManus Group to the Storm using the description "consulting fees," the statement reads.
The scandal comes at a bad time for McManus who is still feeling the effects of the embarrassing Whitney Houston tour, the disastrous Dr Phil tour and the cancelled New Kids On The Block tour.
