In lieu of new music, Britney Spears has posted a confessional message on her dot com.
The open letter to her fans seeks to answer recent tabloid articles about her. She says that she was misled by her manager, had friends take advantage of her wealth, been misrepresented by the media and that people around her were trying to control her.It also addresses her time in rehab. She writes, "I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don't think that it was alcohol or depression. I was like a bad kid running around with ADD."
Spears ruminates that the reason for the extended missive might be "to allow people to look at me differently. It is like when you are a real woman and say what you feel and how you think things are supposed to be, that people just say you are a 'bitch'."
It concludes with an unattributed 'Quote Of The Month': "It is ok to disagree with people regarding certain issues. You're not being true to yourself if you succumb to others opinions because you feel guilty."
With no news about her forthcoming album, the website currently comprises fan and store links and a topless photo of Ms. Spears.
