Billy Corgan has performed with his newly reactivated and assembled Smashing Pumpkins for the first time on stage since December 2000 in Paris.
The show last night (May 22) at the Grand Rex showcased the band's forthcoming album 'Zeitgeist' and introduced new members Jeff Schroeder (guitar) and Ginger Reyes (bass). The band also included touring muso Lisa Harriton on keyboards.Corgan covered pretty much all of the Pumpkins career minus the debut album 'Gish'. Surprises were 'Gossamer', a song recorded for but not used on 'Zeitgeist'. Simon Mateljan of Ozphoria.com tells Undercover News it will most likely be a b-side. 'Winterlong', he says was released on the b-sides collection 'Judas O which was a part of the double disc version of 'Rotten Apples'. It was a left-over demo from 'Machina. 'Unititled was the last song the band recorded before their 2 final shows in 2000. It was their farewell gift to fans.
