R&B crooner Ne-Yo says he steered clear of K-Fed tunes when writing for Britney Spears' comeback album.
He spoke to MTV News recently, discussing the handful of songs he has supplied Britney's A&R representatives. But he says he'd rather stick with high quality songs, than self-serving bleating about Britney's relationship woes.Ne-Yo said, "My whole thing is to stay away from the drama they been through. Every song that's being submitted ... has something to do with Kevin. Everybody is on that. And I think maybe one or two songs addressing that is needed, 'cause people definitely want to hear [her] take on it. But not a whole album of that."
He had told MTV News in February that Britney apparently has "a whole 12-CD disc changer full of songs about Kevin." At that time, Ne-Yo had already supplied five or six songs to her representatives but he still has no confirmation from Britney herself whether they will be used on her long-awaited comeback album.
Ultimately, Ne-Yo said, "My contribution is just regular songs. Regular, quality songs, that's what I'm trying to do."
