Huge, all-Australian (and a little Kiwi) festival Homebake announces its line-up for 2006.
That's right, at the top of the bill is our prince of prog pop Daniel Johns. Silverchair are finishing up their fifth studio album (and their first for four years) and they've chosen to showcase it at the biggest Australian festival of the year, Sydney's Homebake. But these massive stars are just the tip of the iceberg. Homebake have snared Perth's dark pop rockers Eskimo Joe on the back of their successful 'Black Fingernails Red Wine' album, Youth Group just off the release of 'Casino Twilight Dogs', You Am I with their newy 'Convicts' and The Butterfly Effect whose sensational success with 'Imago' will certainly earn a crowd.
Also announced are national stars The Hilltop Hoods, Scribe, Gotye, The Presets, Bob Evans, Little Birdy, Infusion, Midnight Juggernauts, Kid Kenobi & MC Sureshock, Parkway Drive, Augie March and more.
The more abstract additions include internationally renowned ABBA cover act Bj??rn Again, actress Toni Collette singing with her band The Finish and '80s electro rockers The Models.
Homebake is held at The Domain in Sydney on December 2. Tickets go on sale August 21.
