Crowded House and Rage Against The Machine officially launched their comebacks at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California on the weekend.
Crowded House performed a mixture of classic tunes, and new numbers from their forthcoming 'Time On Earth' album, released on June 30.And on the subject of Earth, it is expected that Crowded House will tomorrow be announced as headliners of the Sydney leg of July's Live Earth concert series. The show will take the band back to the city where they bade farewell to the world more than a decade ago.
Meanwhile, Rage Against The Machine proved they've lost none of their anti-establishment ethos, launching into visceral performances of 'Killing In The Name' and 'Guerrilla Radio'.
Vocalist Zack de la Rocha spoke only once during the headline performance, though he left no doubt as to his thoughts on the Bush administration. Likening his government to the Nazi regime, de la Rocha said, "they should be shot as any war criminal should be."
