Australia guitar hero Lobby Loyde will be farewelled by family, friends and fans this Saturday in Melbourne.
Loyde died last weekend after a battle with lung cancer.A public service to celebrate his career will take place at Lauriston Girls School, 38 Huntingtower Road, Armadale at 1pm.
A private cremation will follow.
Lobby's family has requested that instead of flowers, donations to Support Act would be appreciated.
Support Act is the charity organization that helps out-of-work musicians who have fallen on hard times.
Lobby Loyde died on Saturday April 21 in Box Hill Hospital.
The guitarist was at one time a member of the Aztecs and Rose Tattoo, as well as fronting his own bands The Coloured Balls, Wild Cherries and Purple Hearts.
Loyde was 64 years old.
