On the back of his first solo infiltration of Sydney, with Davey Lane’s Four Night One-Man Racket, Lane will be back in Melbourne, lulling his hometown into a state of pure power-pop bliss. Accompanied by the ever talented Laura Imbruglia, the June 6th show at the Post Office in Melbourne will be a rare (and free!) opportunity to get up close and personal with these two musicians.

The show will be just another addition to the successes Lane has achieved in an already flowering 2013. Taken from forthcoming album, The Good Borne of Bad Tymes, official debut single You’re The Cops, I’m The Crime is slated to be released this coming July. After having been previewed to fans and critics alike as a free downloadable demo, the track has already seen successes such as debuting at #8 on the AIRIT Now Charts, being awarded Single of the Week in both Street Press ‘Beat Magazine’ and ‘Drum Media Perth’, and receiving spins on triple j and community radio nationwide – and that’s just the demo, recorded in Davey’s bedroom. The official version, produced by Tony Buchen (Tim Finn, Phrase, John Butler Trio, Andy Bull, Gin Wigmore) will be accompanied by a second remix by renowned hip-hop producer M-Phazes, the single version of You’re the Cops, I’m the Crime promises to be an exercise in pop perfection.
Sharing the stage with Davey will be Melbourne artist Laura Imbruglia. Riding high on the success of singles ‘Why’d You Have To Kiss Me So Hard?’ and the infectious ‘Awoooh!’, ‘What A Treat’ lives up to it’s name, giving fans her best, most accomplished album yet. Combining the punkier moments of ‘Self-Titled’ (2006) and the dark country of ‘The Lighter Side Of…’ (2010), her newest release is a treat of unabashed widescreen pop, introducing the expansion of Laura’s sound from 3-piece to 5-piece band. Packed in a fan-funded jigsaw puzzle, the release will be released the day after her intimate show, June 7th.
The amazing combination of Davey Lane and Laura Imbruglia is sure to be an unmissable event of sublime genre-melding and meticulous melodies. Don’t miss the chance to see these two artists live in such an intimate setting, as it might your last chance.
