Melbourne funk and soul gang, The Bamboos will follow up their acclaimed fifth release ‘Medicine Man’ with a four track EP, ‘Live at the Metro’.
That's not the only good news... the EP is currently available as a free download via the band’s Facebook page. The Bamboos’ recent show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre saw them perform a dynamic, jive-inducing mix of old and new, complete with a raucous brass section and the band’s resident vocalists Ella Thompson and Kylie Auldist.
On stage, special guest Megan Washington contributed to tracks such as the visceral ‘Eliza’. (check it out below).
The success of ‘Medicine Man’ has seen the Bamboos nominated for three ARIA awards (Best Independent Album, Best Urban Album and Best Live Act), an Australian Music Prize for Best Album and an Age EG Award for best song (‘I Got Burned’).
