The Murlocs won't slow down for nobody, their 2nd E.P for 2012 will be launched at The Tote on August 31st.
The five mates from Ocean Grove formed last year and have already developed a keen following of punters at their live shows and released not one but two E.P's this year. Much the same as their (Victorian) west coast comrades, The Frowning Clouds these boys appear to be old skewl musicians from 1965 in post teenage bodies. I've asked the question before and I'll ask it again...something in the water? Although, we do know that harmonica playing frontman Ambrose Kenny - Smith is the son of Dingoes legend Broderick Smith who is also pretty handy on a harp. That at least gives us some context to work from when scratching your head about how people so young can channel old skewl grimey, psychotic blues with so much heartfelt conviction. The Tee Pee E.P represents a monstrous sonic ambush of your ears that will take them prisoner and not let them go quitely.
Anyhoo, I'm going to leave you with a sample (my pick o' the bunch is track 5 Bogan Grove.)
