Hugely influential Perth swamp punk act The Scientists launch a new live album in Sydney and Melbourne.
As part of the slew of bands guitarist Kim Salmon has played with since the '70s, The Scientists have occasionally been reanimated since their first comeback show in February 1995. They are often cited as inspiration for acts like swampy Seattle grunge act Mudhoney and Australian outsider blues heroes The Drones. The band performed at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire in May 2006 and the show was caught on tape to be released as 'Sedition' on April 7. The album promises to include some luxurious packaging, including a moleskin book of liner notes.
To celebrate the band's electrifying performance, current members Salmon, Boris Sujdovic (also of The Exterminators, The Invaders, Beast Of Bourbon and The Dubrovniks), Tony Thewlis (also of The Interstellar Villains and The Scoundrelles) and Leanne Chowie will play launch shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Catch the band that Jon Spencer said "turned my head around and made a man out of me" at Sydney's Annandale on April 7 and at Melbourne's Gershwin Room at The Esplanade Hotel on April 8.
