Transplanted New Zealander rockers Shihad prepare to record the follow-up to 'Love Is The New Hate'.
Following a national support for grandiose goth rock superstars Evanescence in February, the band expect to head into the studio in April to record their new songs, some of which were previewed on the tour. They already have a name for their seventh album, 'Beautiful Machine', although producers are yet to be announced.Shihad will get another couple of chances to preview tracks to the masses before they lay them down in the studio. On March 23 they play a headliner at The Venue in Canberra before their slot on Brisbane's Overcranked Festival on March 24. They have also been confirmed as part of Sydney's Come Together Festival on June 10.
'Love Is The New Hate' was a big comeback in the tumultuous career of these hard rock heroes. It debuted at number two in their home country and achieved platinum sales, as well as winning a New Zealand Music Award for Best Rock Album of 2005. And in 2006 they sold out their Australian and New Zealand tours, understandably since they have long been revered for their immense stage show.
