Boston engine Tom Scholz has issued a statement following the untimely and unexpected death of the band's lead singer Brad Delp.
Scholz says "As you all know by now, Boston's lead singer, Brad Delp, was found dead in his home on Friday, March 9th 2007. Plans for live Boston performances this summer have, of course, been cancelled.""My heart goes out to his wonderful fianc?? Pamela, his two children and other family members, his close friends and bandmates, and to the millions of people whose lives were made a little brighter by the sound of his voice. He will be dearly missed."
Delp was found dead at his home in the early hours of Friday morning by his fianc??e Pamela Sullivan.
Although Police say there are no suspicious circumstances, they are yet to release details of the investigation.
Delp was working towards a Boston tour for mid this year and was planning on marrying Sullivan during a two day break on the tour.
He was also involved with his Beatles covers band Beatlejuice. Delp was a huge Beatles fan and regularly played live with the cover band. Beatlejuice were scheduled to play on the day of his death.
A statement issued on behalf of the family reads "We ask that you please respect the privacy of Brad and his family during this time of grieving. The family will be conducting a private funeral service for Brad and a public memorial service will be announced at a later date."
