Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson of HEART have finally received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The honour for Heart is one of a string of achievements the band have accomplished this year. Most recently on September 18th the sisters released their memoirs in the form of a hard cover book titled " Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll." Like the majority of females in bands and despite their success, Ann and Nancy have faced a different kind of scrutiny than their male counterparts in rock & roll. Kicking and Dreaming is a first-hand account of tumultuous inter-band relationships, thirty years of the roller-coaster ride that is fame and their continual reinvention. Look foward to reading an intimate, honest, and uniquely female take on rock and roll life.
Second to this they will also release their brand new album Fanatic on October 2nd. The album was recorded in hotel rooms and studios up and down the West Coast. The Wilson sisters have used their own lives and personal experiences as inspiration for the music.
Nancy Wilson spoke of her excitment at receiving the Hollywood Walk of Fame Star at the unveiling on Tuesday, "I'm so delighted to be here today taking some credit, credit for all the long, hard work we do to bring a few good songs into the world. Songs are truly the messengers of love, and it's really amazing – f**kin' cool – when the message gets through."
