All year there have been "will they won't they," stories circulating around the media as to whether The Rolling Stones will perform live or record in the year they celebrate 50 years as the Rolling Stones.
Finally there is a bunch of concrete news instead of incessant conjecture. Here it all is wrapped up in a tight little bundle. This is what is true not conjecture about what "might" happen.e.g will Keith and Mick write another song together? Blah Blah Blah.
1. The Stones recorded two tracks at Guillaume Tell Studios near Paris for an upcoming box set last week.
2. The Stones will play two shows in Brooklyn in November 2012 at the new Barclay Centre and two more shows are scheduled to be played at Londons O2 Arena as 2012 comes to a close. These are the only 50th Anniversary shows the Stones will perform in 2012. Nobody knows the exact dates as yet.
3. The Stones did rehearse their back catalogue in N.Y April 2012. The final day of rehearsals was filmed for the film "Crossfire Hurricane" which will premiere on November 15th. The film combines rare and unseen historical footage, with contemporary dialogue by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and former Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. Crossfire Hurricane has taken over a year to produce and has been completed with the full cooperation of The Rolling Stones.
That's it in a nutshell.
