Ben Salter has announced very loudly from his current European pilgrimage, that the digital release of his first ever live album, "Live at Bar Nancy" is available for your aural pleasure.
After releasing his acclaimed solo album, "The Cat" in 2011 and jumping on the tour bus with his band to support the likes of Paul Dempsey and Cat Power, Ben Salter made a decision to relocate to Melbourne. Why? Cos it's the best damn town in Australia to play music.
Once in Melbourne, Salter took the opportunity to play a series of solo residencies all over town in venues such as The Tote, Pure Pop Records, The Retreat, The Wesley Anne and of course, Bar Nancy in lovely down town Northcote where the air is crisp and drinks flow like syrup from a maple tree.
Salter recorded three sets at Bar Nancy in February 2012 featuring all the songs from "The Cat", a few Gin Club compositions, and a selection of covers including "I'm Set Free" by The Velvet Underground and the
now trademark-Salter version of "Tracks of My Tears" by Smokey Robinson.
But wait, there is more, also included are two new, unreleased tracks "I Gotta Move" and "I Can't Live Like This Anymore". The 27 tracks are now available exclusively for sale (either individually or as the whole album) on Ben's Bandcamp page: http://bensaltermusic.bandcamp.com/
