Ben Salter’s debut solo album, “The Cat”, has been awarded Album Of The Year at Tuesday night’s Queensland Music Awards
Salter, who is also known for his work as singer and songwriter for The Gin Club, Giants Of Science and Wilson Pickers (plus numerous other acts) was given the honour despite some stiff competiton from the likes fo Kellie Lloyd (Screamfeeder), The Grates and DZ DEATHRAYS.
Ben is currently touring in Europe and was thrilled to find out from his current headquarters in Berlin that he his debut album had won Album of The Year at the QMA's stating;
"I'm very honoured and flattered to have "The Cat" selected as the Queensland Music Awards' Album Of The Year 2012. Thanks so much to everyone who continues to come to my gigs, buy my album and like my stupid Facebook posts. Thanks also to MGM, ABC Music Publishing, Two Fish Out Of Water and all my family and friends. Stubbs The Cat also sends a big thank you to all of her fans across Queensland, Australia and the world. Tres bien Don Don!"
Ben Salter will return to Australia in November for a yet to be announced tour, before getting busy with work on a second solo album and another Gin Club album.
