Australian music industry pioneer, Michael Chugg, was honoured this week in Los Angeles, as the recipient of Musexpo's International Music Person of the Year Award for 2012. This prestigious honour recognises Chugg's outstanding contributions to the worldwide music industry.
The occasion was also recognised by the city of Los Angeles with Chugg being presented a proclamation from the city for his award by Eric Garcetti, council member for the city of Los Angeles and mayoral candidate, to which Chugg said "LA has always been very close to my heart."
Chugg also spoke about his passion for the music industry and how he is driven not by money but for the excitement, saying "I'm more excited today than ever because of the countless opportunities available to acts with the internet; artists have more control and great music has the power to be discovered faster and with more versatility. I want to be doing this forever!"
