The sale of the crypt where Elvis Presley's body was interred next to his mother Gladys for 2 months after his death has been taken off the market due to resentment from fans.
The crypt was due to go for auction with a starting bid of $100,000 U.S on June 24th, however due to a massive backlash by the Elvis Presley fan base Julien's Auctions who were hosintg the celebrity auction cancelled the sale. Classicrock.com reports that auction boss Darren Julien has confirmed there would be no sale of the crypt or future action taken until the Forest Hills cemetery finds a plan to best suit fans in preserving and respecting the legacy of Elvis. The crypt was not the only creepy item removed from the auction, apparently medical instruments and a toe tag used on the singer's body were also on offer until a source claimed that the items had been re- used on other corpses.
