The Jed Rowe Band are releasing their 2nd album, The Ember and The Afterglow, through Fuse on July 6th 2012 with a tour to support the release just announced.
Produced by Jeff Lang, one of the greats of the Australian roots-music scene, and mentor of the band, the album was recorded live to tape over 7 days in Lang's own studio. The sessions captured the compelling dynamics of the band's live performance with guest performances from Lang himself, Liz Stringer, Suzannah Espie and a fabulous string section.
The Jed Rowe Band unites the raw energy of foot-stomping rock and blues with finger-plucking bluegrass and alt-country sounds, interspersed with an understated folk feel, with occasional flashes of gospel and soul the amalgamation of musical styles sit well with the band's evocative and subtly layered stories behind the music.
