Speaking to the BBC Live Drive radio program only minutes ago, Paul McCartney has confirmed that he will close the London Olympics opening ceremony.
The choice by Olympic organisers is sure to go down a little better than the announcement that Duran Duran would open the Olympics Ceremony with a gig prior. Really, who else could possibly have done the job of closing the opening ceremony than Sir Paul McCartney? The full lineup of performers has yet to be disclosed.
Here is Sir Paul closing The Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace with a medley of songs including Magical Mystery Tour, All My Loving, Let it Be and Live and Let Die.
