"We're trying to get on the Big Day Out", Stone Sour guitarist Jim Root told Undercover when asked when they would finally hit Australian shores.
"If we're not on that, then we'll just have to take a detour from Japan."Soothing sounds to hear from the man who moonlights with Slipknot. While Slipknot have made it to Australia three times, Stone Sour are yet to make an appearance.
The band first appeared on the scene with the epic power ballad 'Bother' from the Spiderman Soundtrack in 2002, although in reality they are much heavier than fans of that song might realize.
Root has had a hand in writing the songs. "It is a little nerve racking" he quipped, "but it's okay." As if baring your soul to the world was an every day occurance.
"We're very democratic in the ways we choose songs that go on the album. Everybody in the band writes." he noted.
It's been a long time between drinks, but Stone Sour are about to release their second album, 'Come What(ever) May'. They have already released two singles from the album '30/30 150' and 'Through Glass'.
'Come What(ever) May' is out on August 1 in the USA, or July 29 in Australia.
