A new film that chronicles the life of Jimi Hendrix from the time he was discovered by Keith Richard’s girlfriend in a club in N.Y, through to the recording of debut album Are You Experienced.
The film will be shot in Ireland and is to be titled "All is By My Side". The project is currently in pre-production in County Wicklow, with principal photography planned there and in Dublin towards the end of May. The plan is to shoot the whole thing in six weeks.
André 3000 (formerly known as Dre) is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor, best known for being part of American hip-hop duo OutKast. He is no stranger to acting, having already appeared in a number of TV series and films, including Families, The Shield, Be Cool, Revolver, Semi-Pro, and Four Brothers.

UPDATE 11/05/2012: Jimi Hendrix's estate has not be consulted regarding the biographical film about the rock guitarist's life. Although they are not against it they would require producers to consult with the estate company. Experience Hendrix, LLC made the following statement. "The family-owned company entrusted with safeguarding the legacy of Jimi Hendrix and administrator of the Jimi Hendrix music and publishing catalog has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation."
