Coming to the Carnival of Suburbia next week are two great American artists, Pieta Brown and the legendary Judy Collins.
Born in Iowa and raised sometimes in Alabama, Pieta Browns early years in an outpost with no heating or running water were formative and stood her in good stead to becoming the acclaimed folk/country/poet and musician she is today. Also contributing was the influence of her songwriting father Greg Brown who introduced her to traditional and rural folk music. Pieta Brown has been hailed as a modern American troubadour. She has gained the attention of music lovers and critics from all walks and counts artists Amos Lee, Iris Dement, Mark Knopfler, JJ Cale and John Prine as some of her biggest fans. To celebrate the Australian release of her album "Mercury" she will play the Carnival of Suburbia on the 14th of March.
