The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, will finally be laid to rest in the next few days, almost two months after his passing.
A protracted legal dispute has delayed the burial, with Brown's children challenging the legality of Brown's marriage to Tomi Rae Hynie Brown.Attorney Robert Rosen said in an interview, "The children and the wife, my client Tomi Rae Brown, have come to an agreement and they have decided that he will be buried in a decent place but it's going to be kept confidential. Assuming a court order is signed he could be buried in the next few days."
Tomi Rae is suing for 50 per cent of Brown's estate, after it was revealed the funk legend had not bequeathed anything to her in his will. It's not yet known if Brown will be buried in his choice of location, namely on his estate at Beech Island, South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Tomi Rae has revealed in an interview with Larry King that she is planning on releasing a tribute album to her late partner. She has signed a multi-entertainment deal with production company The Machine Productions.
The tribute album has the working title, 'Mrs Brown: This Is For You'.
She told King, "it's all songs that James and I wrote together. And on each track will be a rap artist.
"They seem to be pretty excited about it," she continued. "And they are all going to lay tribute to James Brown in a different kind of way."
