The bands that backed some of the greatest rock & roller's will finally be paid their due and recognised for their role in the careers of Buddy Holly, James Brown, Bill Haley, Smokey Robinson, Hank Ballard and Gene Vincent.
The bands inducted will be Buddy Holly's, "Crickets", James Brown's "The Famous Flames", Bill Haley's "The Comets", Smokey Robinson's " Miracles", Hank Ballard's "The Midnighters" and Gene Vincents "Blue Cap's". The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame committee agreed that the bands should be recognised and revered along with the original singers.
