Looking every bit the antithesis of her "Whenever, Wherever" stylings, Shakira has accepted a prestigous French Goverment Award from Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterand.
The Award is, The Title of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres and was set up in 1957 to recognise significant contributions to the arts, literature, or the propagation of these fields. Other artists to have received the prestigous accolade are William S Burroughs, Philip Glass, Roger Woodward, George Clooney, Vanessa Paradis and Jude Law.
