Justin Bieber scoops the AMAs, around performances by Rihanna, Usher, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and more.
The Bieber probably won’t need the flirting coach he reportedly has, following his AMA effort, where he nabbed four awards.
He got the pointy trophy for Favourite Breakthrough Artist, Pop/Rock Male Artist, Pop/Rock Album and Artist Of The Year.
The only other artists to snare more than one trophy were Eminem, who scored Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist and Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, and Usher, who grabbed Favourite Soul/R&B Album and Favourite Soul/R&B Male Artist.
It was a predicable affair, obviously, with the popular vote going to the most popular artist in each genre.
Taylor Swift won the Favourite Country Female Artist, Shakira won Favourite Latin Music Artist, Lady Gaga won Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.
Muse scored Favourite Alternative Rock Music Artist, Black Eyed Peas got Favourite Pop Rock Band/Duo/Group and Glee nabbed Favourite Soundtrack Album.
Performances on the night came from Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Pink, Ke$ha, Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Diddy and Dirty Money, and Justin Beiber.
Then there was a monumental boyband closer, as New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys teamed up to plug their forthcoming co-headlining tour.
