Dew Process, synonymous with troubadours Sarah Blasko, The Panics, Blue Juice and Mumford & Sons have welcomed a new solo artist to their roster; James Vincent McMorrow. The Dubliner has already mesmerized the northern hemisphere with his debut album " Early in The Morning " and now its our chance to be beguiled. Or not.
McMorrow is influenced by his childhood fascination and love for literary figures, John Steinback, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Roald Dahl. I love him already. This ecclectic cast of characters would certainly make for thousands of songs traversing all territories of emotional and intellectual thought. I haven't heard the album yet but according to the press release;
"The self-recorded and self-played debut "Early In The Morning" is filled with beguiling and vivid stories; fables that move from a whisper in your ear to a mountainous crescendo in the space of a song. The stunning collection of songs were recorded over five months in an isolated house by the Irish sea."
Sounds perfect for a rainy afternoon, an ambient lamp style arrangement and a beverage of your choice. The album reached #1 in Ireland and has been internationally lauded off the back his tour of America and Europe. He will be making his maiden journey to Australia in April when he will play Bluesfest. There is also the possibility of a few other Australian shows with more details expected in the coming week.
As I say haven't heard the album but it might be right up your alley. “Early In The Morning” will be out via Dew Process on March 2nd, 2012. Have a listen.
