Rising pop star Kimbra has signed a worldwide deal with Warner Bros for her debut album Vows.
The 21-year-old transplanted Kiwi has been the talk of the town for almost a year now, with undeniably hooky singles ‘Settle Down’ (boosted by national radio and press and even bitchy-blogger Perez Hilton) and her latest effort ‘Cameo Lover’, as well as her guest vocal on Miami Horror’s ‘I Look To You’.
Now a press release from Warner Bros in the US is grousing that the jazzy indie pop singer and songwriter has been signed worldwide for her first album, which will be titled Vows.
Warner Brothers Rrecords Chairman Rob Cavallo said in the press release, "We are thrilled to welcome Kimbra to the Warner Bros. Records family. She is an authentic young voice who brings something new and exciting, both musically and visually, to the pop singer-songwriter landscape."
"Kimbra is an exquisite talent," says Kimbra's manager, Mark Richardson of Outpost Management. "We are excited that in partnering with Warner Bros. Records she will have access to a wealth of expertise to help build her creative and commercial future. Artist development is in their DNA."
In an interview on TVNZ’s Breakfast Show in May Kimbra said that Vows will be coming out in August.
