Townsville-spawned, globally-hyped indie act The Middle East prepare their long-awaited debut album.
The band came together out of Northern Queensland, and their first tunes as The Recordings Of The Middle East wowed fans nationally, winning them 2009’s triple j Unearthed competition.
The collective were the talk of industry circles last year as they toured around the world, honing their live show and their songcraft.
Now, their full-length debut has finally been completed. Recorded through 2009 and 2010 in studios from Townsville, Texas and Cairns, it’s a 13-song opus called I Want That You Are Always Happy.
The album will be released in Australia on April 8, with Japanese, European and North American release dates to come and an Australian tour planned for June.
