In recent times there has been much conjecture about which half baked legends of British rock will open the Olympics in London. Some of the names being thrown around are Queen ( there is no Queen without Freddie Mercury) The Beatles ( sans George and John aint the Beatles) and Led Zeppelin ( not without John Bonham).
The latest band name to be thrown around is Pink Floyd. The surviving members would do a fantastic job, however they are still missing an original member! Thank goodness Dave Gilmour has responded to such reports by advising there is no truth to rumours of Pink Floyd reuniting to play the Olympics.
With all the talent existing in the UK past and present why report falsely that legendary bands not containing the full quota of original members will be playing the Olympics in London. Hopefully the world will see a surviving legend perform without any cheesy fanfare. An example of cheesy fanfare being David Bowie performing "Heroes". I hope this doesn't happen....its making me squirm with embarrassment just thinking about it. Of course, Bowie would refuse to do it anyway. Sick feeling gone!
