We here at Undercover couldn't agree more! 41,000 Detroitians have signed a petition to keep Nickelback away from the halftime entetainment spotlight for the thanksgiving duel between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.
Detroit is miffed bigtime! One resident claimed whilst signing the petition "Nickelbacks’ music doesn’t even reflect a musical genre that has ever been popular in the city. It is not rock and roll, its a nasty hybrid of the worst manufactured music on the planet.”
I'm not sure about Detroit City, but has Nicklebacks music ever reflected a musical genre at all, anywhere?
Sheesh....why can't the powers that be spend a little cash and engage someone with a little more cred and at the very least from Detroit?
I smell the same rat that brought Meatloaf to Melbourne Australia for the AFL Grandfinal in September. Cities of the world need to start looking on their own doorstep for the awesome home grown goods each have to offer. Keep the punters happy !
