Timbaland’s record company Universal Records has told Undercover that he will not be performing in Australia this month, despite tickets still being on sale for the tour.
According to the label, Timbaland has promised to see his Australian fans “soon”.This throws another spanner in the works for the troubled tour. After publishing revised tour dates after the show was moved a first time, Undercover was advised by a promoter in Europe that the new Australian dates overlapped with European commitments for Timbland.
That started a finger-pointing exercise with each of the promoters claiming that their date was the real date.
While Universal has confirmed that the tour will not happen this month, Ticketmaster still had tickets on sale for the tour which is scheduled to begin in Sydney on Friday.
After contacting the publicist for support act Nessa Morgan, Undercover was told that they were awaiting word on whether the show was going ahead. Three days out from a start date, and not even the support act was sure what was going on.
Calls to the tour’s publicist were not immediately returned.
The tour was due to begin this Friday in Sydney.
