American blues, soul, rock, jazz and gospel singer Etta James will retire after the release of her final studio album “The Dreamer “ on the 14th November 2011.
In a magnificent career spanning over 50 years Etta James has recorded a diverse catalogue of soul, R&B, blues and jazz. She has influenced a broad spectrum of artists from Janice Joplin to Christina Aguilera with her distinctive and beautiful voice made famous in her recording of the Mack Gordon and Harry Warren song "At Last".
In recent years she was ranked number twenty–two on Rolling Stones “100 Greatest Singers of All Time and number sixty–two on the list of “100 Greatest Artists”. Six Grammy’s later and also an inductee into “The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, "The Blues Hall of Fame" and "The Grammy Hall of Fame", Etta James is truly one of the great artists of our time. There is and will ever be, only one Etta James.
