Queen Adele continues her reign at the top of a pretty morose album chart this week.
The ridiculousness continues, as Adele’s triple-platinum 21 digs its heels in for another week at number one, with her first album 19 at number three, only broken up by Gaga.
No doubt she’s a juggernaut, but no new releases were even vaguely threatening.
The highest debut was Incubus, with their return album If Not Now, When? popping in at number ten.
We have to look all the way down to number 39 for the next debut: the soundtrack to Winners & Losers.
Then Colbie Calliat’s All Of You scraped in at number 49.
Touring melodic punks Rise Against got their Endgame album back in the chart at 37.
We’ll have to wait until next week to see if The Living End can challenge Adele, or maybe the sad death of Amy Winehouse will see a return to the top of the charts.
Otherwise there was almost no movement. Hillsong dropped from 8 to 20 and Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits rose from 25 to 17 following their tour announcement.
