Australian country music legend Slim Dusty was born in 1927. In honour of the year of his birth Hachette Australia will release a limited edition of 1,927 copies of ‘I’ve Been There (And Back Again)’ by Slim’s wife Joy McKean about the songs, lyrics and life of Slim Dusty.
The leather-bound ‘I’ve Been There (And Back Again)’ will also include a special-release CD.
Slim Dusty holds the record for being the longest artist to be signed to EMI Records anywhere in the world. He has sold over 7 million albums, making him one of Australia’s biggest ever recording artists.
Slim and Joy had been married for over 50 years when he passed away on September 19, 2003.
Joy is also an accomplished songwriter having won six Golden Guitars during her career. She has also previous had a best-selling novel with ‘Another Day, Another Town’.
Hachette Australia will release the limited edition book in November. It will retail for $100.
