Scores of previously unpublished photos of The Beatles from 1964 have been sold at auction.
Reuters reports that the black and white photos were broken up into 46 lots of around 50 shots each and sold for far more than estimated despite the photographer being an unknown.
As a teenager, Mike Mitchell took the photos at a Washington DC concert on February 11, 1964, and also at a pre-show press conference.
This was two days before their famous appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
There were also photos from another Beatles show in Baltimore a few months later.
Mitchell rediscovered the photos recently, which were still in pristine condition after sitting in a box for 45 years.
The lots sold from between $813 and $68,500, totaling $361,938.
