We know we just announced Grinderman from Meredith, but now they’re added to Homebake as well... alongside Icehouse playing their debut album ‘Flowers’... or Flowers playing their debut ‘Icehouse’, depending on how you want to look at it.
I know what you’re thinking: “Grinderman and Icehouse, sure, that’s pretty good, but what I really want is a couple more legendary old farts to split up my day watching the hottest new music around.”
Well, don’t worry, “a special performance by” The Triffids is promised featuring a flurry of guest vocalists in place of the late David McComb and Sydney’s own The Church will also stop by.
Too old? Well you’ll also have Architecture in Helsinki, The Vines, The Jezabels, one of my personal favourites from the last twelve months: Kimbra, The Hungry Kids of Hungary and many more.
Still not enough to convince you to go? Well let’s just bash through the whole lineup (so far), shall we?
Grinderman, Icehouse Plays Flowers, Ladyhawke, PNAU, Gotye, RocKwiz Live, Gurrumul, Cut Copy, Drapht, Daniel Merriweather, “A special performance by” The Triffids, Eskimo Joe, Architecture in Helsinki, The Church, The Vines, Illy, The Jezabels, Kimbra, CW Stoneking, Kids of 88 (NZ), Unknown Mortal Orchestra (NZ), Papa vs Pretty, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Passenger, Killaqueenz, Avalanche City (NZ), Vents, Noah Taylor and The Sloppy Boys AND MORE across four stages.
So can you explain to me in just a few sentences what I have to do to get to this festival?
Well, the festival will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 at The Domain in Sydney, NSW from 11 o’clock in the A.M.
If you want to go to said festival, it’ll cost you ninety five bucks plus booking fee (a bargain if you ask me) and you’ll be able to get a ticket from 9am, Monday, August 15.
If you want a ticket, head to http://www.homebake.com.au or http://www.ticketek.com.au at the above mentioned time, but if you won’t be 18 by December 3, don’t bother. Sorry youngins, it’s 18+ only. Also I’m sorry I mentioned all the old farts first.
