It’s been rumoured for a long time, but finally it’s confirmed! Hall and Oates and Icehouse are hitting the Australian road together in February.
The pair will be playing wineries along the East Coast and South Australia as part of A Day On The Green, as well as a show at Melbourne’s The Plenary and Sydney’s Entertainment Centre.
The two bands‘ relationship with each other stretches back a long way. John Oates co-wrote Icehouse’s megahit ‘Electric Blue‘ and also provided vocals.
“I remember being invited by Iva Davies to come to Sydney to try to write a song in the late 80s,” John Oates said in a statement. “We tried for a few days and didn't come up with much of anything. Then we just hung out on the beach while Iva went windsurfing and when we returned to the studio we finally came up with the song Electric Blue.”
The song went on to become one of Icehouse’s biggest hits, amongst others including ‘Great Southern Land’, ‘Hey Little Girl’, ‘Crazy’, ‘My Obsession‘ and ‘We Can Get Together’.
Hall and Oates aren’t ones to shy away from the occasional massive hit as well. Their illustrious career of pop includes songs like ‘Maneater’, ‘Private Eyes’, ‘Rich Girl’, and ‘Out Of Touch‘ to name but a few.
I know what you’re thinking. “Stop talking Tim! Tell us when they’re playing and when we can get tickets!” Well okay, you’re the boss:
