Nick Barker has scored the role of telling the story of Bon Scott in the forthcoming stage production ‘Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be – The Story of Bon Scott’.
Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be’ will document the story of the AC/DC signer through his various bands the Spektors,, the Valentines and Fraternity before he went on to become the second singer for AC/DC and ride that job all the way to international success.
Barker was a huge fan of AC/DC and modelled his career on Scott. “The impact that AC~DC had on me as a teenager was huge. Even growing up as a musician I spent a lot of my time playing in pubs and AC~DC was the benchmark,” he said in a statement.
“Bon Scott is an Australian icon as much as Ned Kelly. We’re doing his show with the humility and truth that it deserves.”
Australian rock legend Doug Parkinson will also tell part of the story. Parkinson and Scott started their careers in the pubs of Australia at the same time.
The show was written by Andrew Barker, who also produced ‘The Man In Black – The Johnny Cash Story’ and 'The John Denver Story – Take Me Home Country Roads’.
‘Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be’ will have a two-week residency at the Anthenaeum Theatre from July 12.
