Adele Continues To Rule On This Week’s Chart

Only three new entries come into this week’s chart, and none can come close to Adele.

It’s getting ridiculous. Adele’s 21 is still whipping everyone on the album charts. It’s triple-platinum and has been in the chart for almost half a year. Her previous album 19 is now at number three.

Of course, there were a few new entries this week, but none can touch her.

Glee- and So You Think You Can Dance-featured singer Christina Perri appeared at five with her debut Lovestrong.

Country stalwart Adam Harvey popped in at number ten with his new album Falling Into Place.

And the final new entry for this week was melodic Oz-rock duo Busby Marou with their self-titled debut at number 24.

Otherwise, not much else has happened. Upon the announcement of their Australian tour, Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits re-entered at 25.

There were a handful of albums sinking down ten spots or so, including Syndicate to 29, Skrillex to 39, Kaiser Chiefs to 46 (down 21 places), The Script to 48 and Arctic Monkeys to 49.

They were replaced by re-entries by Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi, and a couple of climbers for Lady Gaga due to her Sydney appearance.

The last great hope for Adele to be displaced is most likely at least a fortnight away, when The Living End’s new album should hit the charts hard.
